While the PlayStation Portable had a rocky year for quality titles, it did have some outstanding games for players to rock to.
The Nominees

Crush
Kuju’s wildly inventive, bizarre head-trip 2D/3D platformer-puzzle game

Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions
Square-Enix’s tactical roleplaying game features cel-shaded FMV and engaging strategic combat

Jeanne d’Arc
A brilliantly told story set in the 100 Years’ War featuring beautiful graphics and deep tactical combat strategy

Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters
Sony’s comedic duo make their debut in this pocket-sized action adventure

Syphon Filter: Logan’s Shadow
The sequel to last year’s Dark Mirror remains the premiere handheld stealther in this long-running PlayStation series
And the Winner Is:
Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions
It’s hard to choose any other game for Best PSP Game of the Year - Final Fantasy Tactics had it all - addictive gameplay, amazing FMV animated sequences, great graphics and effects. The same things that made Tactics so engaging on the GameBoy Advance were present in the PSP version - and more.
Runner Up: Syphon Filter: Logan’s Shadow
The closest thing to a true portable Splinter Cell that anyone has achieved.
Jonah Falcon’s PlayStation Portable Game of the Year: Jeanne D’Arc
Jonathon Howard’s PlayStation Portable Game of the Year: Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions
Mitchell Dyer’s PlayStation Portable Game of the Year: Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters
Where Was?
Jonathon Howard: Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles. Why isn’t anyone talking about this game? It is the reason I bought a PSP! Read my review of it! If you are a Castlevania fan you owe it to yourself to get DXC, it has a completely re-tooled version of Rondo of Blood, the game that came right before Symphony of the Night! It even has Symphony of the Night and the Original Rondo! It’s an amazing package and it is a shame that no one seems to be talking about it!
