Classic Games Just Aren’t The Same

NES Innovates the D-PadGreat classic games continue to invade our gaming senses with the advent of Xbox Live Arcade, Wii Virtual Console and Sony’s downloadable content. We’ll fall sucker to a $5.00 game that we played when we were twelve just to relive the experience if only for a few minutes.

The difference? As arstechnica reports, the game controls and features are not always true to the original. They’ve pointed out a few examples of unfaithful retro reproductions in Mario Kart 64, Kid Icarus, Starfox 64, Frogger, Contra and that beautiful D-Pad control scheme.
