THQ has announced the original crack-addictive puzzler Tetris would be coming to Xbox Live Arcade in March, under the name Tetris Evolution. No real details yet, aside from the usual XBLA benefits of leaderboards and online multiplayer, which will probably resemble the Xbox title Tetris Worlds.
Kelly Flock, executive vice president of worldwide publishing, THQ, gushed in the press release:
“The Tetris series has been entertaining people of all ages for 20 years and has delivered unprecedented appeal and longevity in gaming…With its predecessor, THQ’s Tetris Worlds, having sold more than two million copies to date, we can’t wait to debut Tetris Evolution on the Xbox 360 to show how the game has further evolved.”
Hopefully, it’ll have less painful Achievements than Bejeweled 2. How about you? Are you Tetri-holics?
(Thanks, GameFreaks365.)
[UPDATE: Oops. It's a retail game, not Xbox Live Arcade? They better justify whatever price they're going to charge.]

For disclosure, I really enjoyed Tetris Worlds. $29.99 would be a good price. $39.99 would be pushing it.

Tetris Worlds drove me crazy because it stopped the match ever 10 levels and you had to hit continue to keep going. I prefer the Tetris on Nintendo 64. This would have been better as an XBLA game.
