After a series of news alternating proclamations that it was coming to the 360 then it wasn’t, the word is finally official: Mercenaries 2: World in Flames is now set to be an Xbox 360 and PC title, as yet another potential PlayStation 3 exclusive goes bye-bye.
The low sales turnouts, the less-than-manic European interest after Sony cruelly kept delaying its launch there for months after its official launch in Japan and the United States, the difficult development costs of the PS3 and its Cell chip, and the insane price point of $600 thanks to a technology only ardent videophiles might be interested in - all have served to make the PS3 very unattractive option for third party developers.
What will be the next lost PS3 exclusive? This writer guesses Devil May Cry 4, since Capcom has loved the sales its seen from Dead Rising and Lost Planet, two completely original IPs.
