No, don’t adjust your eyes, this isn’t the story we previously reported about the Do-it Yourself Wii Classic Controller Clip. Rather it is Nyko’s R&D team quickly capitalizing on an unpatented stint of creativity.
It took a PhD student of mechanical engineering over 3 hours to finally solve the mystery of the Classic Controller’s central button, and build his original contraption, and less than four days for Nyko to recreate it, and set up the mass production of it by April for $14.99.
The feature set on Nyko’s “invention” is basically the same, but with some added comforts. It’ll help reduce all that extra cord that would otherwise be dangling around, and it features much more comfortable controller grips.
To further change your Wii experience, Nyko is adding in what is called the “click grip” which is basically a rubberized battery controller to prevent you from tossing your Wiimotes into that shiny new HDTV. This can be combined with the Classic Controller Grips, which may give you flashbacks to your childhood love of the Transformers.
