Rumble Feature Is SOOO Yesterday, Move On…

Sony’s President of worldwide studios, Phil Harrison actually stated that the “rumble feature” seen in all consoles today is a “last generation feature.”
Yes, that’s right, rather then stating there might be some lawsuit activity (anyone following gaming news for the last few years may have heard of this) they’re trying to convince gamers the rumble feature is too old to incorporate into this generation.
We believe 1up.com pulled the best quote from this GameDaily.biz article:
“I believe that the Sixaxis controller offers game designers and developers far more opportunity for future innovation than rumble ever did. Now, rumble I think was the last generation feature; it’s not the next-generation feature. I think motion sensitivity is. And we don’t see the need to do that. Having said that, there will be specific game function controllers, potentially like steering wheels that do include vibration or feedback function — not from us but from third parties.”
If that doesn’t make you sick to your stomach, you’re not a real gamer. Okay, that might be going overboard but it does, indeed, bring up a little emotion with many of us gamers.
Honesty is the best policy in this case, we understand its about wrapping marketing around the flaws in a system but please… please… we’re not stupid. The SIXAXIS has some nice tilt feature, yay, so does the Wii controller and some PC controllers. This doesn’t define next-generation (or this-generation) nor does it excuse the lack of rumble.
We would be happier if you just said “we think rumble sucks and we don’t want to implement it.”

Well, analog sticks are last generation too - why does your SUXASSES controller have those? eh?
Damn Sony, can you not say anything right?
Hmmm, I almost called you guys on the pic of Rumble above, as he is blue on the show. However, looking it up, seems the show has Rumble as blue (Frenzy as red) but the toys are the other way around.
