We reported on it last week, and now it looks to be confirmed that Warhawk’s original concept was indeed scrapped for a multiplayer only downloadable Playstation Network title.
IGN revealed exclusively on their video podcast IGN Weekly that the game will feature 32 player matches over the PSN.
Not too much else was announced that we haven’t previously reported on, although there will be support for analog control if the motion sensing isn’t your style.
The developers cite their reason of the restructuring to provide a better, more polished multiplayer experience, and that they didn’t really feel the single player met their expectations.
Overall, it seems like a good decision. Warhawk isn’t exactly the franchise that would be selling PS3s, and if priced accordingly will most likely succeed in being an impulse buy for many Playstation 3 owners.
