Part of Microsoft’s strategy for winning the current console war is to win over Japan. However, because the Xbox 360 is predominantly shooter heavy, its been quite an uphill battle for them.
To help win over our eastern friends, Microsoft hired some of the biggest names in Japanese RPGs, including the legendary Hironobu Sakaguchi.
The first of the two, Blue Dragon fared a decent launch in Japan, even causing Japanese gamers to line up for the console/game bundle.
Now, gamers in North America have finally gotten a firm release date for Sakaguchi’s latest two masterpieces: Blue Dragon, and Lost Odyssey. Blue Dragon is set to come out in the very safe (i.e. far away from Halo 3) release date of August, and Lost Odyssey will be having a simultaneous release in America and Japan this holiday season.
Additionally, Sakaguchi mentions that he has plans to hop on the downloadable content bandwagon, including some more dungeons for Blue Dragon.
(Thanks 1up.)
