Yesterday, in one of the concluding keynotes at the Game Developers Conference, Nintendo legend Shigeru Miyamoto announced plans for a new Wii channel.
The new channel will be dedicated to Wii gamers looking to swap Miis with others around the world. So whether you’re looking for that perfect Hitler, or your best friend, Nintendo has you covered.
Additionally, the channel will also allow users to vote on their favorite, and not so favorite Miis in a Hot or Not sort of way. Which seems cool, mainly because we will finally get to some some sort of communal online integration on the system.

Why isn’t this just included as another voting area within the already existing voting channel? This just seems like it doesn’t need its own channel.

@S Holmes: read the second paragraph again. You cannot really swap Miis in the voting channel. I’d say that’s reason enough.
Also, the voting channel is only A vs B, I would hope this new channel would show more than just 2 at a time.
I think this could be cool actually, I am pretty sure people will be putting up some really good Miis there - and if we are able to grab them and put them in our Plaza’s, well there will be no end to the supply of cool Miis!

Well, I think they could make the voting channel capable of having multiple options to vote on and accomodate Mii swapping. But, maybe not.
