My Soul For A Wii Title… Anyone?

We’re heading into spring (in North America at least) and looking forward to all those great games for the days we should be outside playing. But, where are all the hot Wii games? Mario Galaxy? Metroid Prime?
No.
We’re getting Super Paper Mario on April 9th, looks great even if it was once a GameCube game. A few other titles arrive in April as well. Then on May 15th, Mortal Kombat: Armageddon arrives… yet another Mortal Kombat game.
Mario Party 8 should be a fun time, available on May 29th. A few more games arrive too. Yeah, not so happy with the other titles so why mention them? You can see a full list of winners on Joystiq.
Is this a bad pattern?
Not really, spring isn’t exactly the hit season for video games on any console. The reason is simple, outdoor activities start up, people get a bit o’ spring fever and hit the streets for warm weather activities.
That doesn’t mean we have to be happy about the title lineup. Luckily, there is about one title per month to use up those rainy days. Combine that with the Xbox 360 and/or PlayStation 3 and you should get roughly three games a month to select from if you’re big into game purchasing.
Still, with the Nintendo Wii being a new console and fun to play - we want to see more games to show people the system isn’t just a novelty toy (or a “piece of crap” as has been stated by some developers.)

Yeah, spring is always the time to catch up on all those games you missed the first time around, or replay classics. That’s fine with me, though - I have a stack of games to finish before I worry too much about buying anything new.
