UbiSoft has hired Steven Barnes, a television writer who wrote for such shows as Andromeda, Twilight Zone, and The Outer Limits (including his Emmy-winning teleplay for “A Stitch in Time”) as well as the novel Lion’s Blood, to pen a trilogy of books based on their hotly anticipated upcoming game Assassin’s Creed.
“Assassin’s Creed is an all-new video game franchise that will immerse players into another time and experience,” said Tony Key, vice president, marketing at Ubisoft. “The Assassin’s Creed books, which begin by layering elements that prequel the game, will only expand upon this adventure to an eager audience of gamers and thrill seekers.”
For someone who’s written for The Twilight Zone and The Outer Limits, Assassin’s Creed seems an interesting story, especially in light of certain leaked details, hm? Especially considering the plot of the aforementioned award-winning episode “A Stitch in Time”: “Michelle Forbes plays FBI agent Jamie Perrin, who is trying to connect the dots in a murder case spanning half a century.”

They’re assuming that the game will sell well, for all we know the game could be buggy and end up failing.

It will sell well. Even if it’s buggy the hype machine works too well.
