HD Eyetoy and PS1 Downloadables on PS3

How does Sony Exec. Phil Harrison follow up his megaton announcements at GDC? Well, by revealing quite a few more new features for the PS3, adding to the (mostly) peculiar good vibes surrounding the PS3 lately.

Phil recently demoed Home, and some of their other announcements made at GDC to a couple lucky UK gamers. Among that though, he announced a few new features for the Playstation 3.

The main statement he made was that a new high-def Eyetoy and mic will be coming out, and that before the end of the year, you will be able to play original Playstation games on your PS3, which currently are only playable on Sony’s PSP.

Remember Velocity Girl? She was one of the examples that Microsoft used to show off a feature we have yet to be seen on the 360: user generated content. Well, Sony took an unseen opportunity and ganked that idea, and will allow users to even make a few bucks using it.
