Microsoft announced today that Games for Windows Live will be officially going live on May 8, 2007. The service will include two levels of membership, very similar to that of Xbox Live’s Silver and Gold Accounts.
Gold membership is still $50 a year, but 360 subscribers will be able to transfer their Gold accounts for no extra charge.
What does being a Gold member get you? It includes all of the Silver benefits such as single player achievements, text/voice chat, friends list, and PC to PC gaming. Gold members will reap the extra benefits of multiplayer achievements, Trueskill matchmaking, and the main draw- Live Anywhere (PC to 360 multiplayer).
But Shadowrun doesn’t come out to June, so what will you be playing? Microsoft announced that their ace title Halo 2 will be making its Vista exclusive debut alongside the service’s inaugruation on May 8.
