CeBIT is here and Commodore has released the specs of their upcoming Gaming PC line. Though they still kept prices under wraps, some sites are reporting an unofficial price range of between $1500 and $9999 USD depending on model and configuration.
There are four models of machine in their line, all four share some common feature sets. Each give you the choice of C-Kin graphics on the casing out of an extensive catalog.
The C-Kin catalog of graphics has six categories currently including Classic Commodore, Gaming, Street Art, Art Photography, Landscapes and Colors. A note on the Commodore website says these graphics will be interchangeable and the catalog will expand over time, they also refer to them as interchangeable ‘panels’, which sounds like they’re more than ‘skins’ like we have now for Xbox360 and other systems.
Also among the common features across all models are high density noise shielding, a swing door to conceal drives/cable plugs for a more sleek look, some version of Windows Vista, two year full parts and service warranty and last but not least, a Commodore 64 emulator with a catalog of 50 pre-loaded Commodore 64 retro games!
The four Gaming PC models from lowest (cheapest) to highest (most expensive) are the G, GS, GX and XX.
The Commodore G is their entry level system but still fully built with the focus on gaming. It’s specs include the following:

Each model amps the machine up significantly from the last. If you notice, they’re all based on the same ASUS motherboard though. So, if you’re a more budget minded PC gamer, you could opt to get the G or GS and upgrade it over time as needed when the higher end components drop in price as they always do. The rumored price of the XX is $9.999 so that’s a huge chunk of change to shell out all at once on a PC.
All in all Commodore has come to play. Their system will rival anything the pre-built market has to offer as well as anything you could build yourself. Welcome back Commodore !
