What’s Happening With God of War on April 11?

The God of War franchise is blowing up these days, which is a great thing for Sony, adding one more top-notch franchise to their exclusivity belt. There’s a PSP version in the works, and God of War II just hit retail to show the world that maybe we aren’t quite so ready for the new generation of consoles.

Joystiq’s got the scoop on some sort of announcement relating to the franchise with a countdown clock to April 11. They found a website from a YouTube video of a gamer scoring a damn amazing 999,999 hit combo in God of War II. Once they achieved that feat a little message popped up displaying a URL for IslandofRhodes.org.

Going to the site will just display Kratos eyeing you down with a countdown timer scheduled to show something come April 11. But, what could this be? They’ve already announced a PSP version, and GoW2 is already out. Perhaps a PS3 game?
