Europe PS3 Launch Better than Wii and 360?

More sales data for the PS3’s European launch is coming in. This one, as confirmed by ChartTrack, has the PS3 as the clear winner in overall sales for next gen European launches.
According to the data, Sony sold 165,000 PS3s in Europe since its launch just last Friday, which accounts for 75% of the launch day stock. This tops the equivalent launch period sales for the Wii which sold 105,000 and the Xbox 360 which sold 70,000.
It’s hard to know what to believe anymore because there simply is no middle ground in the media. Reports for Sony are falling under one of two categories: 1) The sky is falling, or 2) Sony is battling punch for punch (and in some places winning).

Once again, how many of those purchases were for resales on eBay?
If the PS3 is so popular, why is it CHEAPER to buy a PS3 on eBay than retail?!

Since when is the UK the whole of Europe? Your statistics are only for the UK (read your source, they say it’s UK). The rest of the European (the UK is a part of Europe) sales are still unknown.

Were the 360 and the Wii even available in those numbers? I would like to see the percentage numbers of the 360 and Wii’s launch day stock. Then you would be able to make a rational comparison.

Niels,
You’re correct, the sales data is just for the UK, not all of Europe. My apologies. However, sales data has come in for all of Europe now: 600,000 units sold of 1,000,000 shipped.
