Electronic Arts, which loves to afflict its sports games with the EA Traxx songs, has announced that it will throw its hat into the ring of music publishing, forming a company called Artwerk.
The new, Los Angeles-based label, to be called Artwerk, will sign and develop artists and distribute music through multiple channels including iTunes and sync deals, which are arrangements to use songs in advertising. EA’s video game arm will also serve as a platform for new artists…
…The label’s first artist is electronic music producer and remixer Junkie XL, who tracks have already been featured in EA’s Madden NFL ’07 and Need for Speed Carbon.
