While we may know the official street date for the newest Xbox 360 for the United States and Canada, we cannot forget that a huge percentage of the 360’s fanbase lies elsewhere in the world.
As I’m sure many Europeans are accustomed to, they will be receiving the Elite a little bit later than North America, most likely in the Summer. At least if this quote from HMV head of games, is legit:
All we understand is that it’s at some point perhaps around the late summer…I feel sure that there’ll be demand for this product, and Microsoft now enjoys the level of brand penetration and player loyalty for it to be successful
Japan, as uninterested in the Xbox 360 as they are, will eventually be receiving the revised console, but at an unannounced date. Kotaku is reporting that the 120GB hard drive is set to release on June 7th, so one could expect a release date somewhere in that time frame.
And, worst of all is Australia. The Xbox 360 has been a huge hit down under, even setting launch day records when it first premiered. However, they aren’t set to receive the Elite 360 until sometime in “Winter 2007.”
(Thanks Kotaku)
