Bungie Announces Halo Zero

Bungie, already having stated that the current trilogy of Halo games story arc would be concluding with Halo 3, have announced a new entry into the popular series, Halo Zero. A departure from the series, the game is based on the popular viral marketing campaign for Halo 2, ILoveBees.com, following the adventures of teenagers Janissary James, Jersey Morelli, Kamal Zaman and Rani during the Covenant Invasion of Earth. Even more of a departure from the series is that it is a tactical shooter a la Rainbow Six, with some role-playing elements included. Janissary is the super-soldier similar to Master Chief, Jersey is a computer whiz and hacker, Kamal is a medical student, and Rani is a spy trainee. They are aided by a Cortana-like AI Melissa, who serves as sort of a dispatcher.
According to Bungie chief and founder Jason Jones, Halo Zero had been conceived early, and ILoveBees.com was a way to introduce the characters to the public and generate a backstory involving them.
A precious reality is love for our output; let’s say, “Drives a young idea forth.” We have the ability to explore and experiment unlike most other companies. We will marry the genres of first-person tactical shooters with full-blooded role-playing games, and we know our fans will be assured that they’ll play something new and exciting. Plus, the past success of Beverly Hills, 90210 indicates that younger gamers would find this concept ‘rad’.
The game will be released sometime in 2009 for the Xbox 360.

Hi,
When is this game coming out, it sounds kind of fun? Maybe something for the more intellectual crowd. I enjoy a good story, not always so important is running amok and killing beasts.
