Microsoft’s Reformation Of Customer Service

Possibly to ease the frustrations of the 10 million Xbox 360 owners out there who feel they’ve been shafted by Microsoft with the recent Xbox 360 Elite announcement, or just out of pure kindness, Gates and crew have decided to add a few new consumer friendly policy changes when dealing with faulty systems.
First up, they are offering a reimbursement of game discs that may have been scratched up due to one of the systems early production blunders (or dumb people moving their console when it’s on). The catch: it has to be a first party game. The second catch: it’ll cost you $20 USD.
Recently they’ve extended the manufacturer’s warranty of the console from 90 days up until a full year, and now Microsoft is cleaning up the repairation process in a few ways:
- Free Shipping
- Post-Service Warranty Extension
- Return of Your Original Console: Previously you received a refurbished model
- Faster Service
Sounds good, but it’s sad that there has been such an apparent problem in hardware failure that this is even newsworthy (I’m on my 3rd one!).
