In the Japanese-laden pages of the latest Famitsu magazine, Capcom officially unveiled the long rumored stint of the Resident Evil franchise (known as Biohazard in Japan) coming to the Nintendo Wii.
First up is a port of one of the Gamecube’s best selling (and only) third party mature rated games: Resident Evil 4.
The game, which had a short spurt in exclusivity on Nintendo’s last-gen hardware will be ported over complete with a new control scheme, which may prove to be very similar to some of the minigames found in the Nintendo DS version of the original Resident Evil, which had you swiping along the screen to slash your knife across enemies. It currently has a Japanese release date of May 31, with no announced date for other parts of the world. You can head over to the official website to dig for some more info (and the sweet music), provided you can interpret the Japanese language.
But, millions of people have already played RE4 thanks to the Playstation 2’s 100 million strong fan base. To add a breath of fresh air to the franchise Capcom is porting over their premiere game into an on-rails shooter entitled: Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles. Not too much more is known about either title as of now, though you can head over to the official Umbrella Chronicles website to check out the trailer.
