Throughout the past few weeks we have seen a number of games once thought Playstation 3 exclusives announced to be hitting Microsoft’s machine as well. But, what we haven’t seen is a game jumping the other way, out of Microsoft’s hands and into Sony’s regime.
Sony’s official PR blog: Three Speech recently revealed in a blog entitled “FUTURE PS3 GAMES” that Bioshock will not be a Microsoft exclusive and will be hitting the Playstation 3. Whether it is a timed exclusive, or even true at all is up for debate, given the sparse amount of information published on their blog:
Another hotly anticipated title from 2K Games (also appearing on Xbox 360) is BioShock. BioShock’s lineage can be traced back to the revered System Shock 2. Essentially an RPG, although it majors on shooting, BioShock will certainly be one of the most visually stunning games ever – it’s set in an abandoned underwater city built by a billionaire in the Art Deco style.
Bioshock is currently scheduled for an August 21 release date on the Xbox 360 and PC. Keep an eye here for more details on the Playstation 3 version.
[UPDATE] Kotaku was contacted by 2K representitives to inform them that Bioshock is still 360 and PC exclusive.
