GTA4 Episodic Content Only for 360?

We reported on the major Grand Theft Auto IV cover story in Game Informer, but GTA4.net has pointed out an item in the issue that just arrived to subscribers:
Both versions of the game (Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3) will likely be identical, but the Xbox 360 version will have exclusive downloadable episodic [sizeable] content. Rockstar have now spent over 3 years developing the game, and Dan Houser compares the leap from GTA III to GTA IV, to the leap from GTA to GTA III.
Whoa. It was thought that both the PS3 and 360 would have episodic DLC, but this may not be the case. Another blow to PS3 owners.

“Both versions of the game … will likely be identical, but the Xbox 360 version will have exclusive downloadable episodic content” does not mean that the PS3 will not feature episodic content.
All this means is that the XBox 360 will have episodic content that the PS3 will not have. The door is still wide open for downloadable episodic content on both the XBox 360 and PS3 that is not exclusive to the XBox 360 and for future episodic content that is exclusive to the PS3.
Don’t jump the gun on this kind of stuff, it’s just bad reporting.
