Surprise!: Lost Planet Coming To PC

Capcom has had a surprising amount of success on Microsoft’s latest console. Early Xbox 360 hit Dead Rising caused quite a stir among the gaming industry and sold relatively well, thanks to it’s clever take on American culture. And more recently, Capcom’s frigid third-person shooter: Lost Planet: Extreme Conditions managed to ship over a million units just within it’s first few weeks, and even developed a small following in the game’s hometown: Japan (not too easy to do for a 360 game).

Continuing their newfound partnership with Microsoft, Capcom and Nvidia revealed to Famitsu that Keiji Inafune’s second 360 hit, Lost Planet will be making it’s way to the PC platform. To get the most out of it though, you’ll need Windows Vista, as the game will support an astounding 2560×1600 resolution through the power of DirectX 10.

While it doesn’t mention it in the story, I’d assume that we’ll be receiving a significant leap in graphics as well if the game will be one of the showcases for DirectX 10. Due to come out in June 2007, there’s no mention on whether the game will be a Games for Windows exclusive, cross-platform play, or anything else.
