The Chinese government will be bringing the hammer down on underage gamers on April 15th. When they will impose harsh new penalties for gamers that stay online for more than three hours. The new restrictions will give underage gamers full points in their game for the first three hours, which the government regards as “healthy” for a user to be online.
If the gamers continues to stay online after the three hour limit they will receive half the points for the next two hours. If they go beyond that there will be no point awarded to the player.
“The system will only target minors who lack the self-discipline to control their playing time,” Xinhua quoted Kou Xiaowei, an official with the State Press and Publication Administration, as saying.
Under the new guidelines all gamers must verify their age with their identity card. If they are over the age of 18, no restrictions will be imposed.

That’s hardcore. Like, wow. I heard about this but I was still not sure I believed it.
I almost think it would make gamers play more. If you lose half your “points” after 3-hours then you’ll play 6-hours to get your 3-hours worth?
Maybe that’s just my random thought, but it could happen, no?

After 5 hours you wont get any points. So if you play 5 hours you have played for 4 hours worth of points and be done for that day.

Remember, the government should raise children, not parents.
