Man, I’m sure Bungie’s loving all the press they’re getting from their money making franchise: Halo. Or perhaps they’ve planned this nonstop barrage of news, release dates, and content.
Helping fuel the power hungry Halo news train are the newly released details on the upcoming Halo comic book series, now officially titled Halo: Uprising. Coming out this July, the Marvel-published, 40-page first edition of the new monthly series penned by famed comic writer Brian Michael Bendis looks to finally flesh out all the mysteriousness of Halo 2′s ending, and possibly ease many of the frustrations gamers had with the conclusion. The official synopsis states:
Picking up from the conclusion of blockbuster video game Halo 2, the must-read issue reveals how the Master Chief, while onboard a hostile ship headed towards Earth, is battling against Covenant forces! Intertwined with Master Chief’s interstellar one-man-war is the saga of a great American city’s rebellion and downfall, two disparate lives’ collision and shared fate, and the Convenant’s hunt for an ancient relic of untold power and value. With hope dwindling and the fate of humanity hanging by a thread, is there any chance for a future? Read this debut issue to start the journey into the Halo universe!
Sounds pretty good to me. As a pretty hardcore comic fan, I’ll definitely be picking this one up.
