Sony has released version 1.7 of the PS3 firmware. After downloading the update, users are met with a very helpful (and extremely logical) note clearly explaining what additional functionality the update provides:
- You can now download PlayStation® format software from PLAYSTATION®Store, and play it on the PS3™ system.
- You can now use saved data for PlayStation® format software on the PSP™ system.
- You can now use the vibration function of accessories that are for use with PlayStation® and PlayStation®2 format software.
It’s about time Sony allowed non-PSP users to enjoy the Playstation format games directly on the PS3. I never understood why it was limited to the PSP. As for the vibration function, is this a sign of future vibration functionality returning to the Playstation brand?

I suppose the six people with PS3’s will be happy, heh.
