Xbox 360 Fueled Up For Middle East Launch

While the Xbox 360 has failed to really tread any ground in Japan, the real frontline of the gen-now war, Microsoft’s turned their attention elsewhere to theoretically make up for lost sales.
T o further promote Microsoft’s vision of global dominance, the Xbox 360 will be launching in the Middle East starting on April 26th with the United Arab Emirates. Other countries are expected to follow soon after, as it releases with a price point of about $490 USD.
While it may seem like an obscure move, it’s not like we haven’t seen similar events take place elsewhere. Last September, Microsoft’s console launched in one of the most poverty stricken nations of the world: India. Since it’s launch there, the 360 has had little to no response from the Indian citizens, with an estimate by GameGuru that the Xbox 360 has only sold a total of 839 units as of February.
While it’s not necessarily surefire proof that the 360’s debut in the Middle East will be a total bomb, given many Middle-Easterners similar level of income, I’d expect the same results.
