While gamers worldwide salivated to put their joysticks into work with the Halo 2 Blastacular Map Pack, there’s still plenty of reasons to come out of that Xbox back compat. emulation to hit up the Xbox Live Marketplace, or even (gasp!) finally getting around to turning on that long forgotten friend of yours — the Playstation 3.
While notably absent in playable content, the Playstation Network store put up a few new downloadables for free including trailers for Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, and the two upcoming flicks Ocean’s Thirteen and No Reservations. Okay, so maybe we’re stretching for content a little bit, but rumor has it that God of War’s outspoken creator, David Jaffe’s PSN title Calling All Cars will be hitting the online commerce either this week, or the week after.
Rainbow Six: Vegas may have suffered from the “Gears of War Syndrome” by being released around the same time of the 4 million seller, but Ubisoft’s not ready to call it quits yet. With a highly developed online community and loyal fanbase, they’ve released the Rainbow 6 Players Pack at a steal for only 800 MS Points ($10 USD). For your Hamiltons you’ll get two new game modes, Assassination and Total Conquest, as well as five new maps. Already played them? Let us know how you’re liking the pack in the comments.
Command and Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars, which has already seen its release on the PC is prepping for its Xbox 360 release, and to get gamers pumped up, Microsoft has released some new content, including a demo, as well as a few picture packs and themes.
That’s it for this week’s edition! As always, be sure to leave some feedback on some of the new content, whether you liked it, hated it, or feel somewhere in between. Just do so in a civilized manner.
(Thanks Kotaku and Major Nelson)
