Next-Gen Burnout Announced, Open World

While we were teased with Burnout Dominator for the PS2 a few months ago, EA has officially come out of the closet with the first details on the real “next-gen” iteration in the Burnout franchise, dubbed Burnout Paradise for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.

EA describes Paradise as the culmination of the Burnout series. It’ll be an open world environment, and according to the press release it “proves that crashing is awesome!” Didn’t they already accomplish that in previous games? While an official release date is unknown, EA is targeting for a Winter 2007 release.

Explore the city, discover events, and look for the best opportunities to crash, jump and pull signature takedowns. In Burnout Paradise you’re given the keys to the city, but it’s up to you to earn the keys to the meanest and most dangerous cars on the street, and earn your Burnout licence.
