USB Mic, Zelda Peripherals Headed to the Wii

While many may argue that the Nintendo Wii is just a peripheralized version of the Gamecube (or two Gamecubes duct taped together) it was only a matter of time before we started to see some cheesy cash-ins for the Wii, as well as some that actually seem interesting.

Let’s get the promising news out of the way first. EA’s upcoming rhythm/dancing game, Boogie, is already looking to have gamers waggling around like an epileptic kid watching Pokemon, and now they’re adding on yet another bullet point to the back of the box, with a packed in USB microphone. Talking to IGN, a producer for the game stated that it may be the very first of the sort making it’s way onto the Wii.

While we’re not sure if it was just a mistake or not, plugging in a microphone to the Wii’s back USB port seems kind of odd. It seems more likely that we’ll see a way to plug the mic into the bottom of the Wii-mote.

Then there’s the monstrosity pictured to the right. Priced at $30 USD, you’ll be able to look even more stupid waggling your way through The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess with a plastic shield, and two swords. Seems quite dumb, but hey, if it makes a younger gamer’s day, it’s alright with me — and if it makes an older gamer’s day, at least there’s a chance of hilarity in catching them in the act.
