Give your average tech-geek a piece of software or technology, and within a few hours you’re guaranteed to come up with a bunch of new details once invisible to the human eye. At least that’s what a bunch of modders/hackers did with the Halo 3 Beta.
Poking around the code of the beta, they found a bunch of new information on mostly unannounced gameplay additions, including yet even more pieces of equipment, weapons, vehicles, and even medals.
Some of the highlights of the unreleased lineup include a chopper, flamethrower (found in the Halo 1 PC release), and four new types of deployables: Jammer, Invincibility, Instacover, and Smoke.
The rest of the list is after the break, along with another Halo 3 related goodie for ya: Co-op.
No, not just co-op. Four player co-operative play. MaxConsole is reporting on the leak, stating that the feature will be available online, as well as via system link (only 2 per console, however).
With games such as Gears of War and Rainbow Six: Vegas leading the pack for online co-operative play, adding support to Halo 3 is a very welcome addition to many Live-enabled Xbots.
That’s all we have so far, now it’s time to get back to business on the beta.
Vehicles:
-Pelican
-Shadow
-Phantom
-ChopperWeapons:
-Flamethrower (Frankie hinted at this in his interview with Joystiq)
-Plasma turret
-Claymore grenade (possible codename for Spike Grenades?)
-Covenant Gun Tower (possibly a new kind of turret?)Equipment items/Power-ups:
-Jammer (possibly the radar scrambler shown in a leaked video)
-Invincibility
-InstaCover
-Smoke (smoke grenade? smoke screen?)New Medals:
-Killocalypse
-Killionaire

I love this idea. If true, it’s good to see Bungie isn’t giving into the masses who only see Halo as a multiplayer frag-fest.
