Nintendo Announces Summer Lineup, Metroid! Mario Strikers! George of the Jungle?!

The previous list of the expected software releases for the rest of the year from Nintendo puzzled, yet excited gamers worldwide. Not only did it say we were getting Super Mario Galaxy, but also Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, and Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

A recent press release from Nintendo is starting to make this once thought impossible lineup come to fruition, with several heavy hitters debuting this summer.

The two biggies, of course, on the the Wii lineup include Mario Stikers Charged, and the long awaited proof that a first-person shooter can by enjoyable on Nintendo’s latest console, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. Both titles were slapped with firm release dates of July 30th, and August 20th, respectively.

Also along for the summer ride are all the usual supects (Madden, Tiger) as well as a few original titles on many gamers’ radar: Boogie, Brothers in Arms, Battalion Wars 2.

And who can forget about the little money printing handheld that continues to dominate in being the fastest selling game device ever? The DS has plenty of potential hits inbound, such as Brain Age 2: More Training in Minutes a Day and Simcity.
