Are you devious enough to play Xevious? The guys at Gamerscoreblog have posted this week’s Xbox Live Wednesday releases, which consist of two retro arcade titles, one of which is good (Rush ‘N Attack, a Contra-style arcader) and the other which is a spectacular classic that has not lost a thing in two decades: Xevious.
Xevious was a basic vertical scrolling shooter, but one of the best ever made, with simple, beautiful levels, great enemies, great tinkling score and just loaded with style. It used grayscale to maximize its pseudo-3D look, and had that tremendous “just… one… more” gameplay. Xevious hasn’t gotten old, and it may never will.
