Halo 3’s Nifty Graphical Improvements

The beta has been going well, apparently there have been little issues with game controls - a big factor in an FPS title. Game balancing is always being performed to get it perfect for the release but the one thing gamers have been talking about: the graphics.

A slight update from Halo 2 but a bit dated when you compare the title to other Xbox 360 games. Pretty much Gears of War has destroyed all perceptions of what an Xbox 360 game should look like.

Frank O’Connor, Bungie’s content manager, had a bit to say about the visuals:

“I think it’s safe to say there will be lots of visual surprises in Campaign and a few nifty graphical improvements in multiplayer.”

We’re not exactly sure what constitutes a “nifty graphical improvement” but I’m sure, in the end, it won’t matter at all. The name Halo sells gamers regardless to the graphical nature of the game. Gamers want a Halo title for their Xbox 360 without having to use crappy back-compat software.

They want a solid title that reminds them of Halo 2 but with incremental awesomeness tossed in for good measure. Not to unlike that of a Starcraft 2 fan really.

GOW used less players on smaller maps. I don’t really know much about making games, but it would seem to me that you could put more detail in a much smaller place. I am speaking of the multi player only. I would expect a huge improvement as far as the campaign goes.
