Last week’s Playstation 3 firmware update, version 1.80, gave us the ability to fully utilize the potential of PS3 to PSP connectivity. Serving as the key to unlock this feature is an updated firmware for Sony’s PSP handheld system: version 3.50.
The update will let users access the media stored on their Playstation 3 from Wi-Fi hotspots around the world, permitted they keep Sony’s “next-gen” behemoth turned on at all times — also known as “Remote Play,” which you may have previously experienced in a previous firmware update, but was limited to the confines of your home.
Additionally, the update includes an “RSS Channel Guide” which will basically make navigating all of your RSS feeds less of a pain in the behind.
I haven’t had a chance to check this out yet, but the possibilities seem pretty cool. Welcome to the future, kids.
