No Final Fantasy for Xbox 360

Despite recurring rumors, it appears 360 fans will not be enjoying the latest offerings from the gaming industry’s most famous RPG franchise, Final Fantasy. IGN is reporting that Square Enix’s Shinji Hashimoto has stomped out the rumors in a discussion with Japanese website Nikkei BP.
In an industry where “corporate talk” can usually be interpreted many ways, Hashimoto was pretty clear on the position of Square Enix. When asked if the Wii or Xbox 360 would be getting games in the Final Fantasy series, he replied, “For the Wii, we have [Final Fantasy] Crystal Chronicles in production. As for [Final Fantasy] on the Xbox 360, it’s currently a completely blank page.”
Although “currently” does not mean “always,” it appears clear that, at the very least, system seller Final Fantasy XIII will not be making its way to the 360. Given this generation’s trend of non-exclusives, Square’s position is certainly unique. It will be interesting to see how this affects their bottom line or if other developers will follow suit.
Rumors and news of lost exclusives has become an ugly part of the online fanboy wars with fans of both sides caring more about the loss of their enemy’s exclusive than the opportunity to play a great game.

In a word, HORSESHIT.
Remember January this year? People were CONFIRMING there would be NO WAY, ABSOLUTELY NO WAY that Devil May Cry 4 would be an Xbox 360 title.
Wanna bet Sony got that 1 year silence that they tried to get with Assassin’s Creed?
