Bioshock Hands-On Preview

Here comes BIG DADDY! 1Up.com has an exclusive hands-on look on the upcoming horror roleplaying shooter Bioshock, which is coming for the PC and Xbox 360. An early sampling:

You’re in a plane, you look at some photos, the plane goes down, the BioShock logo shows up, and you find yourself in control for the first time as you hit the water’s surface, which just happens to be surrounded by a ring of fire that seems plucked out of rap-video-kung-fu-movie-hybrid Romeo Must Die.

This scene is supposed to wow you. We didn’t fact check that with the developers, but it’s obvious. The impressive-as-we’ve-seen-to-date fire effects surround dark water with a nice tint of blue for the first example in the game of vibrant color showing up despite the extremely dark setting.

I don’t want to give the rest of the preview since it gives away some early game spoilers, but this game is so hot it’s burning.
