Alan Wake Goes Vista Exclusive

YouGamers recently had the chance to catch up with Remedy, the developers behind the highly anticipated, but shrouded in mystery title, Alan Wake. Among other things, they revealed that, alongside the Xbox 360 version of the game, the PC version will be Vista only:

YouGamers: Just to confirm things then, the PC version is only for Windows Vista and not for XP machines…

Järvilehto: That’s correct - the game is Vista exclusive

It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything about Alan Wake, so any news is good news in that it tells us the project is still breathing, but really? Vista only? If Halo 2 and Shadowrun couldn’t do it, what chance does a completely new IP have of selling a new OS to people? I’m sure it’s a push to amass a decent sized library on the platform, but Microsoft needs to start announcing and releasing titles for Games for Windows if they want it to succeed.
