Epic calls shenanigans on Gears 2 Rumors

The other day we reported on Microsoft’s rumored E3 leaked list of which included a rumor for a Gears of War 2 trailer. According to CVG Mark Rein, Epic’s Vice President told a reporter:
“We are not announcing a sequel to Gears of War at E3 this year. Did you see the update we just did for Gears of War last week? We’re still working on the first one.”
On top of working on the current Gears of War, Epic is working hard on Unreal Tournament III, which will be very welcome when it comes out this year. Whatever the case is with a sequel to Epic’s next-gen shooter, we’ll be able to handle the wait. There’s way too much to worry about this year as it is without a cardiac arrest inducing Gears 2 announcement.
