Variety is reporting that the Halo movie may finally be moving ahead. Fox has agreed to back the film, and will handle worldwide merchandise licensing for “Halo” on behalf of the tech giant.
Fox is aiming to launch a broad array of products, from books to apparel to collectible merchandise, in conjunction with the release of “Halo 3″ in September. But given the huge popularity of the vidgame series, Dekel said he’s confident his division can continue to sell licensed products in the next few years until a fourth “Halo” game comes out.
In other words, Halo is one huge cash-cow of a franchise and Fox doesn’t want to miss out, especially when conservative estimates of the Halo 3 launch are at $172M on the first day.
Does this mean the Halo film is coming? It certainly doesn’t hurt.

no it certainly does not hurt, but all this is saying is that Fox has the licensing deal just like ti does for PDZ and Kameo two games that (thank god) are not movies…
