Tips & Tricks Magazine Gets Shelved

One of gaming’s greatest magazine publications, Tips & Tricks, looks to be folding over for the last time, as a freelancer for the magazine has confirmed that Larry Flint Publications has pulled the plug, laying off the rest of the staff.
The news hit freelancer Jeb Haught prematurely, but the letter included in his latest paycheck couldn’t have been any clearer:
Tips & Tricks magazine is ceasing its publication of monthly issues…Thank you for your contribution to Tips & Tricks Magazine.
Even worse, was the planned extinction of the employees from the magazine:
The bigwigs at LFP were planning on firing the entire staff this week while they were away from the office at E3 promoting the magazine…A lot of effort was put into keeping this a secret from all employees, which is very disrespectful. There is also a fantastic-looking T&T website that was just created in the last two months that looked to be very promising, but even that is getting the axe! Why did they even bother if they weren’t willing to give it time to flourish?
The print videogame industry has lost yet another casualty in the struggle for relevancy amongst constantly updated and aggregated websites, and seeing one of the best magazines in the industry go under the way of previous victims such as OPM, GMR, and XBN is definitely sad. While Tips & Tricks’ coverage into the latest cheat codes and strategy guides has long passed the point of relevancy, we’ll never forget the impeccable writing and editorial coverage presented in its pages.
