Xbox Website Gets Fancy Redesign

Xbox.com has undergone a recent redesign that should be hitting users today, adding a few new features in addition to a fresh coat of paint. The new layout seems pretty clean and well navigable, if not a little “corporate.”

The “My Xbox” section has been slightly improved, so you don’t have to click through a bunch of pages to check out your friends list or achievements, which is definitely a plus for many who just can’t get enough of the Xbox gaming community. All in all, it’s a welcome change, even though the rest of the site looks more like an advertisement for the product than anything.

I like the smooth look, but highly dislike the need for so much flash above the fold.

On my laptop it pretty much is just a big flash banner. I’d rather have a small box for flash, but all the sites are going with huge flash banners lately – I guess it’s the “in” thing.

It’s a bit much. I preferred the previous one’s simplicity.
