RUMOR: Street Fighter 4 To Be Announced Soon?

There’s a lot of forum buzz about EGM reporting a strong rumor that Capcom will be announcing Street Fighter 4 for next-gen consoles - including the Wii.
We’ll keep an eye on this rumor.

I very much hope this happens! And considering there’s a teaser site for a new 2D game on the Capcom wsite, I’m sure all will be revealed soon.

Even if there is a new Street Fighter game set for release, Capcom’s 2D fighter history will never be able to surpass the Guilty Gear franchise, sorry.

-Street Fighter Alpha Series and Street Fighter 3rd Strike
Of course with the HD sprites or make it 3rd strike / CVS 2 sprites. Make Sheng Long as the last boss. Bison, Shin-Akuma and Gill as the sub-bosses.
I want to see Balrog vs Dudley; Hugo vs Zangief; Alex vs Birdie; Sakura vs Elena; Makoto vs Karin; Bison vs Gill; Dhalsim vs Necro; Guile vs Q; and more. Can you imagine that!!!!
*The Power Bars Should be:
*Street Fighter Alpha/Zero 3
-The X-ism
-The A-ism (Z-ism japanese version)
-The V-ism
*Street Fighter III 3rd Strike
-The best power bar and parry mechanism
*Capcom vs snk 2
-The C-Groove (a little different than A-ism)
-The A-Groove (a little different than V-ism)
-The S-Groove (only skilled players knows how to play this bar)
-The N-Groove (easy bar use for beginners)

guilty gear will never reach the levels of depth, balance and overall excelent quality of street fighter (any of them but specially street fighter 3 third strike). one could only hope that whoever said anything different will receive the proper karmic punishment and have his thumbs removed. thank you very much and have a great night.

ok…if one more person mentions Shen-long..we are fighting….lol..shen long was not a charecter…but more or less from what i gather..having something to do with this shen-sho-ryuken..(his flaming dragon punch that scarred the chest of Sagot in a battle they had together)..why they gave this dragon punch to ken..and not ryu as well.i dunno..but in any case…Shen-long is the many rumoms which caused Akuma to be created…so…if u wanted Shen-long…(Akuma) is who u would be using…Listen up people..THERE IS NO SHEN LONG

STREET FIGHTER 4????
if they make this *which i really hope they do!* i reckon they should have all the characters from all the series but make them look older (like they are aging) but also introduce a few new characters and new moves for both old and new characters
i also reckon m.bison should come back one last time at a final attempt to take over the world

SF4,it’s about time,i was wondering if CAPCOM had forgotten how to count to 4?They could make Shen Long a reality,but he would be so ridiculous to beat.I was in the arcades when this rumor first hit and everyone was trying their best to get to him,bummer it was an april fools joke,still CAPCOM has the brains to make him come to life.Rumor has it that SF4 has been in the works for a few years?If that’s true,then why the delay?Although Guilty Gear can never truly replace SF,it is a great “Tide-me-over” series,till the Grand daddy of fighters comes back to reclaim it’s rightful crown,STREET FIGHTER.

Street Fighter 4 like None says should be the way he said…. of course with more characters too like Sheng long and others….. Also should be available for the PS2,Xbox360 and Wii(classic controller only).

If their gonna make a street fighter 4, then they need to make it 3D and not 2D. 2D is pointless, if i need 2D i can just play it on an emulator or just use my Super Nintendo. Street Fighter 4 should be made just like the Alpha games were made. Stick to 3D and everything will be fine

Edwin We already have good games in 3D like Tekken and Soul Calibur, but Street fighter never make good on the 3D style. Maybe a 3D background will be good, but the gameplay should still in 2D.

all fighting games have their own likes and dislikes. street fighter and guilty gear and all 3d fighters. c’mon now as a fighting game community we should stick together at least we dont get a dick from FPS genres (halo players) telling us whats good or not.
but just to help street fighter out. about guilty gear.. Street fighter doesnt need to make 30 different games to be good.. nontheless change all their moves after your good with one person. i.e. eddie extreme change from slash and accent core. and adding an EX? *cough* street fighter 3rd strike?

Street fighter 4, yeah. Shen Long doesnt exist but it would be cool if he did. For this game I want all the charectors back from all the games and tons of new ones and new modes. The game should have 3D sprited but be in 2D and each charector should have another “form”. The same charector but stronger. Also more abilities.

Ok guys, i just came upon this room searching for sf4 and im seeing arguing about which fighting game is best. Truthfully, I personally love Street Fighter and King of Fighters. but every fighting game has helped the other fighting game realise their past faults and what they should work on, based on others work, so in all actuality, every game is the best, depending what your looking for. When I play king of fighters, im looking for Iori, Andy and Kim cause they are my favorite characters, and because they have such a speedy attack system, especially the 2006 KOF. when I want oldschool, i turn to the SF series, cause it still holds up after time, and every fighting game has characters I like, and characters I dont. Now if I want a weapon fighting game, i usually turn to guilty gear or SC. it all depends on what you want at the time. i personally practice Martial Arts, so I prefer the hand to hand games, but both genres are similar, and each have their perks and ummm….un…perks…lol. No one should be fighting about which is the best. You like SF? you like KOF, you like GG? its all up to you, but god damn, dont say ones better than the other, cause as soon as you shove that kinda opinion down our necks and try to prove a point with mumbo jumbo, your automatically wrong. Lets all get along and play Capcom Vs SNK 2,lol. hopefully they’ll eventually have an all encompossing fighting game with everyone from everything, that way we can all be happy and come together.

i believe if Capcom is coming out with a new SF game, it should be of the TOURNAMENT KIND. with all the top contenders in the running for the #1 fighter of all time, like MORTAL KOMBAT, SOUL CALIBUR. TEKKEN. VIRTUAL FIGHTER, AND SNK KING OF FIGHTERS. WHAT DO YOU THINK.

Yes capcom, make another GREATLY limited supply of SF4 games that will be obscure to the eyes of the mainstream and be another sausage fest for SRK to splooge over.

This is AWESOME!!! Finally the FOURTH installment!!! SF vs MK? Hmm, that could be some candy on the side. I hope it follows the Marvel vs Capcom style of fighting!!! Create a Fighter should be in there - Example: You choose Chun Li and as her powers, you give her Ryu’s Dragon Punch and Guile’s Somersault Flip. This is a basic of the basic create a character. Maybe a point system to get unreleased powers?

SF4 would be incredible! I think the only fighter from previous games should be a 50 year old Ryu (with gray streaks etc.), and maybe Ken’s son who will play like a really twisted (aka Sakura) shoto…other than that no other shotos and an all new dynamic cast. The gameplay system should be similar to SF2 and SF3, but with some great new innovations.

Actually for all of u uneducated out there sheng long does exist as he was/is akuma’s father. the reason akuma came about was because he was jealous of ryu and ken so then learned the dark side to their fightin style which consumed him turnin him into akuma as he had another name before that but i dont remember it. akuma then kills shen long and then goes after ryu and ken! do ur research and u’ll find it! if i find the article i read i’ll post it! may be hard as i stumbled upon it while searchin for SF Wallpapers. Oh and SF is the King of all fighting games and thats that. the rest arent fluent enough. -Peace-

I jus want to say that i hope someone important reads this and can have some influence on the game making… i think that this game will b a serious hit if they make it more along the lines of Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 instead of the normal street fighter game.. if it has combos and big hit finishing moves rather than the slow one on one normal street fighter.

Listen guys any one claiming that Guilty Gear is a better game than SF is just being funny to piss you off. There saying it on purpose to get a reaction, no one would actually be that stupid. Imagine a person so dumb they would compare such childish game to the Street Figther Master Piece.

I’d much prefer this to have an engine along the lines of the Street Fighter Zero/Alpha or Street Fighter III games in comparison to MvC… I much prefer the slower pace rather than “Hey, every attack can chain!” I was never a huge fan of the autocombo systems. The VS. games weren’t bad by any stretch, but I prefer a more strategically paced game. I’m looking forward to this however, as I’ve played the hell out of SFIII and something new would be fantastic.
Oh and as far as all the Sheng Long stuff… yeah, doesn’t exist. Yay mistranslation. Anything saying he’s real is false.
