Harmonix just wrapped up their demo of Rock Band at EA’s press conference, and made quite a few substantial announcements regarding DLC strategies and track listings.
Going in the complete opposite direction that Guitar Hero II did, Harmonix CEO Alex Rigopulos announced that they will be supporting Rock Band with downloadable content well into its future. New content will be hitting each plaform’s respected online marketplaces weekly, with both single-tracks and entire albums available.
Who are these artists, and which songs will be included? One of the more popular artist additions to Rock Band was revealed: anti-piracy metal juggernauts, Metallica. Sadly the only track listed so far is the cliche “Enter Sandman”, but hopefully we’ll see more in the downloadable content.
The rest, including The Who, Black Sabbath, Rush, and the Blue Oyster Cult after the break!
- The Who “Won’t Get Fooled Again”
- Mountain “Mississippi Queen”
- David Bowie “Suffragette City”
- Black Sabbath “Paranoid”
- Blue Oyster Cult “Don’t Fear the Reaper”
- The Ramones “Rockaway Beach”
- Rush “Tom Sawyer”
- Bon Jovi “Wanted Dead or Alive”
- Nirvana “In Bloom”
- Stone Temple Pilots “Vasoline”
- Weezer “Say It Ain’t So”
- Foo Fighters “Learn to Fly”
- Metallica “Enter Sandman”
- The Hives “Main Offender”
- The Strokes “Reptilia”
- Queens of the Stone Age “Go With the Flow”
