Today’s Virtual Console Titles: July 9 and July 16

Due to foreseen circumstances we completely forgot about last week’s Virtual Console releases, but don’t worry; you wouldn’t want to buy them anyway. Here’s what you missed, followed by the three newest additions to the Wii’s oldies collection:
- Yoshi (NES) - 500 Wii Points
- Mach Rider (NES) - 500 Wii Points
- Air Zonk (TurboGrafx16) -600 Wii Points
- Balloon Fight (NES) - 500 Wii Points
- Paper Mario (N64) - 1,000 Wii Points
- Silent Debuggers (TurboGrafx16) - 600 Wii Points
While Balloon Fight was important enough in Nintendo’s book to make an appearance alongside Metroid, Mario, and Zelda in Tetris DS, Paper Mario outshines the rest of the pack as our pick of the week. Paper Mario brought a whole new dimension of gameplay to the series, offering up turn-based combat in place of mushroom stomping. The success of the series lives on today, with Super Paper Mario battling with the best of ‘em.
