So, by that rational, holding back the engine makes you more money since you're the only one in the space...but you also made lots of money on the license that you're not supporting in a timely manner. Heck, that wasn't 'short,' but I tried. So, in short, to get the most marketing, hype and awesomeness from Gears of War you’d have to a) be first to market and b) have no competition in the space.
