RUMOR: Map Editor to Ship With Halo 3

After playing through the Marathon series for the first time, “Chunky Monkey” over at SpartansNeverDie unexpectedly came across a feature called “Forge.” Forge, as it turns out is a map editor that was used in the series and seems to have popped up again in Halo 3.
Chunky Monkey noticed this snippet from 1Up’s E3 2007 coverage of Halo 3:
We caught a brief glimpse of a menu option called “Forge,” but Bungie wouldn’t comment on what that is. But keep an eye out for EGM’s September issue (on sale August 7th), where they reveal this feature — plus a whole lot more exclusive details on single-player, multiplayer, and co-op.
Of course, this isn’t exactly definitive proof that a map editor is one of the unannounced features of Halo 3. 1Up’s Jeremy Parish sounded off on his frustrations of “the Internet” jumping to conclusions, and like any rumor we should always take everything with a grain of salt.
