IGN has a fascinating preview of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, centering around Darth Vader’s apprentice (you know, the Rule of Two.)
Obviously, Darth’s had a pretty rough life, and he’s not going to go easy on the new guy — expect physical and emotional torment. Blackman said that when the young apprentice gets hurt in battle, pseudo-daddy Vader’s not going to kiss the boo-boos. When the apprentice fails, Vader’s sure to punish him, but chances are he’ll let the impending pain hang over the kid for a week or so before dealing out the whippin’. The apprentice says he’s committed, but leave it to Darth to introduce a good-looking Imperial pilot named Juno Eclipse and watch how the option for love weighs on his apprentice’s mind.
In general, expect Darth Vader to be a jerk to his right-hand man.
Sounds like a hot game, but where’s Knights of the Old Republic III?

I can wait on KOTOR for the tech that’s in this title.

Ok, nerd-alert. You’ve been warned.
I’m not normally one to complain about stuff like this, and I’m sure there’s an explanation for it, but Vader never had an official apprentice, since he was Darth Sideous’ apprentice up until he betrayed him. And going by the Rule of Two, it kinda gets in the way.
Unless he’s just training the main character to become his apprentice when he becomes the master?
Just a thought and my inner-nerd coming out.

Hey, update on that. Just actually read the article and it refers to the character you control as Darth Vader’s “secret apprentice.”
Ok, nerdfury quelled.

Darth Vader had another secret apprentice, by the way:
