LEGAL BRIEF: Destruction of PS3’s Demanded In Another Lawsuit

Microsoft and Nintendo have been sued for the technology in their consoles in recent years, but Sony and the PlayStation 3 seems to be a complete ligitation magnet. This time, Parallel Processing Corporation of Newport Beach, California has filed a suit stating their patent for “synchronized parallel processing with shared memory” has been infringed illegally by Sony. If that’s not all, Parallel has demanded Sony pay “damages and attorney’s fees with interest, as well as the impounding and destruction of all Sony products that infringe on the patent.”
Does this mean the government will rush into people’s homes and take a sledgehammer to their PS3’s? No. But it would mean a total recall from stores and Sony being forced to re-manufacture their entire stock, which would be costly, to say the least.
(Thanks, PS3 Fanboy.)

And what processing architecture is the Xbox360 using? Or an Intel Core Duo based computer? In my humble opinion it’s just another company jumping on the “lets sue Sony” wagon.
